Orion telekom Expands Sovereign AI Factory With NVIDIA GB300 NVL72
BELGRADE, Serbia — October 21, 2026 — Orion telekom announced the next phase of its sovereign AI expansion in Serbia, with plans to deploy NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 systems at Serbia’s National Data Center. The investment will expand access to locally operated computing capacity for AI training and inference, building on Orion’s existing AI factory launched earlier this year.
The new deployment is expected to become operational in the first half of 2027. Preparations at the site include liquid cooling and an initial 4 MW of power capacity, scalable to 20 MW. The first phase already has an anchor customer commitment from Serbia’s national incumbent telecom provider.
Orion currently serves enterprise, public-sector and AI-native customers, including Public Roads of Serbia and members of the NVIDIA Inception Program, through AI services delivered on secure, locally operated AI infrastructure.
In addition to GPU-as-a-Service and AI platform services, Orion hosts open and open-weight models such as DeepSeek, Qwen and GLM that customers can access through a Token-as-a-Service model to build AI applications.
Orion also puts this infrastructure to work in its own business, running more than 50 AI agents across its network operations, finance, customer support, sales and other functions, processing approximately 500 million tokens per day.
Orion is also evaluating additional AI factory locations across Southeast Europe, with identified sites representing approximately 120 MW of potential future capacity.
